CHENNAI: S Dhairyalakshmi. Her name embodied courage, but the 19-year-old engineering student of Anna University, who came from a rural background, apparently lost the will to live. On Tuesday, she committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room. In a suicide note, she claimed that she was leaving because of her inability to cope with academics.Hailing from K V Palayam in Villupuram district, Dhairyalakshmi, was a first year civil engineering student studying in the Tamil medium at the university. She stayed with five others in Room No 10 at the womens hostel in the varsity campus at Guindy. The young woman seemed to have been perturbed by her poor performance in the exam.
