New Delhi: The much-anticipated Yamuna Expressway connecting the national capital to Agra in Uttar Pradesh will be inaugurated on Thursday.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will be doing the honours through a video conference.
The highway will be opened to the public from 4 pm. The 165-kilometre stretch cuts travel time by half, which means one can now head from India Gate in New Delhi to the Taj Mahal in just two-and-a-half hours.
The state government has given its nod to toll rates at Rs 2.10 per km for cars.
A round-trip in a single day will cost one around Rs 510.
