Kanda quizzed, servers seized from his office

CNN-IBN | 19-Aug 15:45 PM

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Sunday seized servers from former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda's MDLR office in Gurgaon in connection with the Geetika Sharma suicide case. The Delhi Police took Kanda to his Gurgaon office after questioning him in connection with the case.

Besides servers, hard disks, three files and articles wrapped in a bedsheet were also recovered from Kanda's now-defunt MDLR Airlines after three-hour search.

Kanda was later taken to his house in the Civil Lines area. The police search there lasted nearly half an hour.

During the search operation and questioning at MDLR office, Kanda's relatives and family members, including two women, were also present, sources said.

Twenty-three-year-old Geetika worked with the MDLR group, but quit later to join another job. In her suicide note, she alleged that Kanda and another senior MDLR executive harassed her and mentally tortured her, pestering her to join back.

Kanda was arrested on Saturday morning after he surrendered at the Ashok Vihar Police Station in New Delhi, following which he was sent to seven days police custody.

Kanda, who went absconding the day he was asked to join investigations on August 8, has not yet revealed where he was for so many days.

Meanwhile, Chadha, who was arrested three days after the case came to light, will be produced before a court on Monday.

The police has sought her custody to bring her face-to-face with Kanda.
