New Delhi: Time is running out for the Rajya Sabha to pass the Lokpal Bill with just a day to go before the Budget session of Parliament ends. The government will bring the Bill in the Rajya Sabha on Monday despite opposition from parties like the JD(U) and RJD.
The discussions may focus on some key amendments including the removal of the provisions for setting up Lokayuktas in the states.
If the government fails to bring it in Parliament by Tuesday, then the government will be left with no option but to refer it to the select committee if the opposition demands.
Sources say that the government will have to agree to the Opposition's demand as it doesn't have numbers.
