Has Mamata left a room for discussion with UPA?

CNN-IBN | 19 Jun 2013 04:23 pm

Kolkata: Even as Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee withdrew support to the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government, she gave a hint that there was still a possibility to manoeuvre.

Announcing that she had decided to pull out of the UPA as the Congress was not giving her party the respect that it deserved, she added that the six Trinamool ministers would resign from the Union Ministry on Friday after the namaz (Friday prayers of the Muslim community).

Addressing the media in Kolkata after an over three-hour long meeting, Mamata said that she would reconsider her decision if the UPA decided to withdraw the diesel price hike, the cap on subsidised LPG cylinders was removed and foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail.
