Hyderabad: Charminar, Golkonda to be heritage sites

Hyderabad: The state government through central government has filed nominations for the declaration of Charminar, Golkonda and Qutubshahi Tombs as World Heritage sites by UNESCO, GHMC commissioner, M T Krishna Babu said.
He held a review meeting with Rajath Kumar, commissioner, Tourism on the issue of declaration of World Heritage Sites on Monday. He said that there will be a joint inspection on Tuesday with the Tourism department officials in order to implement the suggestions of the UNESCO Selection Committee.
GHMC will be cooperating in the landscape development of Qutubshahi Tombs and will remove all the encroachments in order to uplift the face value of heritage structures.
