Srinagar: A month after CNN-IBN's special report on temple land in Kashmir being sold off illegally, there has been finally some action from the government.
The Jammu and Kashmir government is set to move an ordinance for protection and management of temples in the Kashmir Valley. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has directed the Revenue Department to prepare a note for the Cabinet, and a Bill will be tabled in the next Assembly session.
Kashmiri Pandit groups have been holding demonstrations and hunger strikes against the alleged illegal sale of temple properties in the Kashmir Valley.
