Hyderabad: It's a double tragedy for the parents of Divya and Deepthi. The twin sisters who were among the 32 passengers who died in a bus accident en route to Shirdi on Saturday.
Eleven employees of Tata Consultancy Services from Hyderabad perished in the tragic accident. Many of them had joined the company just a few weeks ago. 21-year-old Divya, in fact, persuaded her sister in Vizag to join her on the trip.
Divya's friend Priyanka said, "They had all just joined the company after campus placements. Had finished training and wanted to celebrate. So were going to Shirdi. The family is inconsolable."
Soon as the news of the accident spread, anxious relatives thronged the private bus operator's counter in Hyderabad. But lack of passenger details only added to the confusion. The government has now ordered an enquiry.
Cabinet Minister Sridhar Babu said, "Those responsible for this mishap will face severe consequences."
But such promises are little consolation for for the victims' families, some of whom lost more than one of their loved ones.
