No petrol-diesel vehicles for NDA shutdown

IANS | 19 Jun 2013 06:40 am

Mumbai: The May 31 Bharat Bandh (shutdown) announced by National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners may not feature any petrol or diesel vehicles, the BJP said on Friday.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushma Swaraj suggested that the workers should be encouraged to use unconventional vehicles for the protest which is against a hike in petrol price.

The party will be undertaking an eight-day mobilisation drive before the shut-down. However, no diesel or petrol vehicles will be used.

The party is also observing a "Save Kashmir fortnight" from June 23 to July 6, which will focus on 'integration' of Kashmir with the nation.
