New Delhi: Confusion and intrigue reign supreme as the decision looms on who should pair up for India at the London Olympics, with Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna locked in a game of musical chairs.
According to reports, both Bhupathi and Bopanna have written a letter to the All India Tennis Association that they will play only if they are paired together. But as the only Indian player ranked in the top 10, Leander Paes gets a direct entry into the competition and has the right to choose his partner.
There is speculation that the association might field two teams, with Paes partnering Somdev Devvarman as one team.
The final decision will be taken on Friday when the 5-member selection committee will meet in Bangalore.
