One killed in blast ahead of Sonia's Assam visit

Tinsukia: A day ahead of Congress president Sonia Gandhi's visit to Assam, one person was killed in a bomb blast by anti-talk faction of ULFA in Tinsukia district on Friday night, police said. The bomb was planted in a roadside at Selabari area.

The deceased has been identified as A Agarwal, a local businessman, police said.

Sonia is coming on a one-day visit to Guwahati on Saturday where she is scheduled to meet the party's state leadership.

The anti-talk faction of ULFA has called a 12-hour Assam bandh on Saturday in protest against the visit.
