Rae Bareilly: Congress star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi staying positive about the coming Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh said the party will win more seats than the last time.

Supporting the Union Home Minister who is caught in the 2G spectrum scam, Priyanka said as a Home Minister he has huge responsibility.

"I feel sad when he has to respond to the rants of the people, who are not concerned with the issue, that he has to deal with. I feel sad about the amount of time that is being wasted in all such things which he could devote for the country. I feel the same for our government. The amount of time we waste over such things," added Priyanka.

On Sunday, Priyanka also praised brother and Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi. "Rahul not concerned about his reputation but his work," said Priyanka.

When asked about Rahul becoming Prime Minister in the future, Priyanka said, "He doesn't look at his political career in this way. We are fortunate to have an honest Prime Minister."

Reacting to BJP Leader Uma Bharti's earlier comments on Rahul and UPA Chief Sonia Gandhi, she said, "Ask the people of Uttar Pradesh who is an outsider."

Priyanka also asserted that Rahul has set an agenda of development in politics and in the state of UP.

Earlier in the day, addressing a rally in Amethi, Priyanka had said that the state of Uttar Pradesh has been ruled by political parties that don't work for the welfare of the people.

"For last 22 years, UP has had parties forming government that do not work for the people. Congress party respects and recognises rights of the people," stated Priyanka.

Priyanka said, "Leaders come and make promises on caste and religious lines and mislead the people and then snatch their rights."

"They ask for your votes on the basis of your caste and your religion. They forget you once they come to power. It's time for you to wake up and reject them," she said.
