New Delhi: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari is headed to India this weekend on a personal visit. Zardari to be accompanied by Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and will hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The US though maintains the Hafiz Saeed move should not strain ties between India and Pakistan and called Zardari's scheduled visit 'very constructive'.
Zardari will be in India on Sunday to offer prayers at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah. But he will hold a meeting with Singh and discuss constructive engagement and regional peace.
Malik's presence assumes significance in view of the US bounty on Hafiz Saeed who masterminded the 26/11 attacks.
Meanwhile, Ajmer Sharif is gearing up for Zardari's visit.. The Pakistani President will be in the city on Sunday with a delegation of over 50 people. Zardari had last visited the shrine with his late wife Benazir Bhutto in 2005.
