TMC workers beat up teacher in South 24 Parganas

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers have allegedly assaulted a teacher in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The teacher, Debjani Dey of Bhangor College, was allegedly manhandled by Trinamool workers over the college governing body elections.
Debjani Dey was allegedly abused and injured in the attack after a jug of water was thrown on her by TMC leader Arabul Islam. The TMC alleges that Debjani is a Communist Party of India-Marxist worker.
An FIR has been lodged at the Bhangor Police Station. The situation remains in the area as TMC workers have surrounded the college.
