New Delhi: Six gunmen attacked a Samajwadi Party worker in broad daylight outside a market in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. The incident left four people including an eight-year-old boy critically injured.
The incident occurred on Monday when six armed men on two bikes opened fire in a busy street. Their target was Pappu Nishaad, a local leader associated with the Samajwadi Party. The shooters then chased Nishad into a crowded store.
The police called it a gang war sparked by political rivalry. No arrests have been made as yet. The injured were admitted to a hospital.
